Mr ‘Laja Sorunke is the Group Head, IT & Digital Banking Control, United Bank for Africa Plc with 23 years working experience in Branch and Head Office Operations, Information Technology, Inspection, Group Shared Services, Internal Control and IT Auditing. He has over 11 years management experience in IT Auditing of UBAGROUP. Laja has carried out IT Audit functions in over 18 African countries including United Kingdom and United States to ensure that the bank’s information systems assets are well secured and protected, prevent fraud and detect incidences that might lead to frauds.

He is a member of IT Steering Committee, IT Risk Committee, E-Banking Risk Committee of UBA Plc; Nigeria E-fraud Forum monitoring CBN Cashless Economy initiative; and 1st Vice President of Information Security Society of Africa-Nigeria (ISSAN). He is an ISO Lead Auditor, Member of Institute of Internal Auditors, and work earnestly to ensure that the bank’s ISO 9001-2000, ISO27001 and other information security certifications are well accomplished and retained. Laja has a strong passion for information security and technology advancements.

Laja is an active President of UBA Cooperatives Multipurpose Society who performed tremendously to transform the UBA Cooperatives into a society recognized in the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperative Services, Lagos State. He is presently the Vice President, Lagos Island Multipurpose Co-operative Union (LIMCU).

His meritorious performance was awarded during the last 2015 Cooperative Day, Lagos State where he was chosen as the Most Outstanding Coop. Leader.

Sola Gbadamosi

Sola Gbadamosi

Vice President
Sola currently oversees the IT Control & User Access Management Unit for UBA Group with three decades of banking experience spanning Branch Banking Operations, Branch Internal Controls, Head Office Internal Control and Group Information Security & Control. He received training in Banking & Finance, Basic Accounting, Domestic & Foreign Operations, Customer Services, Microsoft Office Applications, Basic Credits, Bank Internal Control, and Implementation of various Banking Applications.

He became the Vice President of the UBA Cooperatives Multipurpose Society Limited in 2015 and has been a key player in the automation of the cooperative operations and management. He had training in Cooperative Administration and management.

Olayori Olaleye

General Secretary
Olayori is currently the Country Chief Inspector UBA Guinea. He has over two decades experience in Banking covering Branch Banking Operations, Branch Internal Controls, Head Office Internal Control, Head office Audit as well as Subsidiaries audit. He received training in Treasury, Audits, Banking & Finance, Basic Accounting, Domestic & Foreign Operations, Customer Services, Basic Credits, and Internal Control. He served as the Assistant General Secretary for two years before elected as the General Secretary in 2015. Yori plays very active roles in every cooperative project.

Rotimi Ogunbona

Rotimi Ogunbona

Financial Secretary
He holds a B.Sc. in Accounting, as well as an MSc Finance from the University of Lagos. He is also an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN). He has over a decade experience in banking.

He is currently the Chief Finance Officer CFO, of a PAN African Global Bank in the Francophone region.

Prior to this, he was at various times, the Technical Assistant to the CEO, Central Africa; CEO UBA CES Africa; and, CEO UBA West Africa with responsibility for building the Bank’s business and strengthening governance in UBA country subsidiaries in Central, East and Southern Africa; and West Africa. He emerged as the Financial Secretary of the Society in 2015.

Mojisola Pitan

Treasurer
Mojisola Oluwakemi Pitan holds Bachelor of Science in Banking & Finance from Lagos State University and worked in different capacities in United Bank for Africa Plc for 34years before retirement in 2016 as Branch Operations Manager. She was one of the Most Valuable Performer (MVP) while in service and her branch was rated as a role model branch for others, and chosen as a pilot branch for customer service project in the bank.

Moji, as Treasurer, was part of the team that turned around the fortunes of UBA Cooperatives into a society recognized in the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperative Services, Lagos State. She is currently engaged in General Commerce and blazing the trail.

Sylvester Oyamienlen

Sylvester Oyamienlen

A project manager, banker, a logistics expert, procurement guru and manufacturing operations manager of over 20 years. He joined UBA Co-operatives in 2008, became the General Secretary in 2010 till 2015 and has been playing key roles in his present capacity as Ex-Officio.

While he was the General Secretary and with the President revived the almost moribund society, engaging in staff welfare, training and re-directing the course of the society, aggressive membership drive and taking the society to an enviable position as the only surviving bank co-operative in Lagos State. He is presently the Assistant General Secretary, Lagos Island Multipurpose Co-operative Union (LIMCU).

Wale Adedokun – MBA, FICA, FCBA

Wale Adedokun is a graduate of Banking & Finance with Post Graduate Diploma in Management and MBA in Marketing, with specialization on International Marketing. He is a Fellow of both the Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria and Certified Board of Administrators of Nigeria. A Certified Auditor International Organization for Standardization [ISO]. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria; Nigeria Institute of Management among others.

Wale Adedokun retired from the Bank after 35 years of uninterrupted meritorious service in 2016 and is currently, the Chairman/Executive President, Global Attitude Business Concepts Ltd (A Financial & Management Consultant and Farming (Piggery, Fisheries & Rubber Plantation) & CEO, Wale Adedokun’s Prime Homes (A Real Estate /Projects Consultant).

David is currently the CEO of Dedoor Investments Limited. He retired from UBA Group as a Senior Manager in 2012 to join United Capital Plc (formerly UBA Capital Plc) as the pioneer Divisional Head of Internal Control. He retired from United Capital Plc as the Chief Risk Officer in 2016 to float a consultancy firm of his own after cumulative banking experience of 31 years in Commercial and Investment Banking.
He is an alumni of University of Lagos and Senior Member of Chartered Institute of Loans and Risk Management (SCILRM). He has various local and international trainings programs to his credit.

Grace Okuribido

Grace functions as the Head, Oil Services in Energy Bank of UBA Group. She has close to 30years experience covering various strata of banking namely, Branch Banking Operations, Branch Reconciliation, Head Office Departments mainly Corporate Bank and Energy Bank Directorates. Her training cuts across Relationship Management, Credit and Marketing, Basic Accounting, Domestic & Foreign Operations, Customer Services, Structured Trade etc.

She joined the UBA Co-operative close to 3 decades ago and has been a committed member till date. She became a member of the Supervisory Committee in 2015 working closely with the Chairman of the Committee and other EXCO members to ensure smooth running of the Cooperative. Grace is an MBA holder with specialization in Financial Management and also has professional qualifications in Music from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM) England. She is happily married with children.
